Alkonost

An independent theatre project by Elena and Alexander Erofeev.

"Alkonost"

Alkonost is an independent Russian language theatre, established in 2020 in Istanbul. The distinguishing feature of our theatre (its specialization) is original plays after classical plots, their new interpretation. At the same time, in each our stage version we treat the source with maximum care and try to convey its essence to the spectators by theatre means. Our shows are always entertaining and dynamic, with eye-catching stage decorations and live music – classical and contemporary. Our ambition is to preserve the depth of the masterpieces that we tackle and at the same time not let the spectators be bored for a second.

Alkonost is both Russian and truly international theatre. Actors from Russia, Turkiye, Moldova, Kazakhstan and even Mexico took part in our performances. We do not have a permanent troop – for each play, a team of same-minded actors, passionate about Theatre, is gathered.

Apart from that, Alkonost regularly holds art and literature events.

In 2024, Alkonost together with its founders moved from Istanbul to Vienna, where it continues its creative activities.
