The play is a modification of the plot of the same-named film script by Yuri Arabov, after which Oleg Tepsov has directed his movie of 1988. However, Alexander Erofeev has re-thought and supplemented the story. Yuri Arabov (R.I.P.) has read and praised the play. In its turn, his original script has developed the themes of the story “The Grey Automobile” by Alexander Grin.

You will hear the music by Sergey Kuryokhin – an outstanding Russian composer, art visionary and pianist – as well as verses by Nikolai Goumilev and songs by Alexander Vertinsky and Mikhail Scherbakov. Thus, Mr Decorator develops the best specimens of Russian culture – both that of the Silver Age and contemporary.
